Dear Florida State Coalition Members,
The theme for the state coalition is “Florida’s Move Forward: for Such a Time as this!” Chartered in the Fall of 2020, the Florida State Coalition of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. is proud of its established traditions and community programs implemented over the course of the past two years. The mission of NCNW is to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families, and their communities. The state stands strong in its membership of over 2,500 members, eleven community-based Sections, and nine active collegiate sections.
The state coalition is a participant in the Good Health WINs nationwide initiative. Sections are fortunate to utilize grant funding from the Center for Disease Control to help promote good health and stimulate educational awareness related to infectious diseases and other illnesses. The state president and project coordinator recently attended the National Conference for Immunization Coalitions in Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with a nationwide delegation. The conference was most informative and enabled state leaders to network with health professionals, business and medical partners, as well other leaders such as NCNW’s Affiliates.
The Florida State Coalition Officers for 2022-2024 are as follows:
Much appreciation is given to all of the chairs, co-chairs, and members who work zealously to promote the goals and vision of the state, NCNW’s revered founder Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, and visionary Dr. Dorothy I. Height.
Serving with a purpose,
President Tempress (Tee) Solomon- Florida State Coalition President
